The use of gravel on roofs is a growing trend as roofing contractors and construction companies alike become more aware of its advantages. In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, the gravel forms a longlasting, maintenance-free barrier to the sun. In choosing gravel for roofing, the size and shape of the aggregate must be considered. In general, it should be minimum 20mm in size and a rounded pebble rather than crushed stone to avoid damaging the roof membrane.
